Pioneer Electronics has announced that their second generation player, the Elite BDP-94HD, will arrive on store shelves this month at a suggested retail prices of $1000US. Coming off the success of the Elite BDP-HD1, this second generation player will feature all the specs of the of Pioneer's first Blu-ray player, with added support for internal decoding of Dolby TrueHD. The player will come bundled with two Blu-ray titles which will allow the purchaser to experience Dolby TrueHD right out of the box.
No physical dimensions or specs have been announced at this time, so it is unknown if the BDP-94HD will have an upgradeable Ethernet port or 7.1 analog output (two highly requested features). With the unit in stores later this month, we hope to have more solid specs very shortly.
