Actor Vin Diesel announced via Instagram that David Twohy will begin working on the next installment in the Riddick saga. A spin-off TV show is also planned.
Here's Diesel's announcement:
"Last night our company had a party to launch our TV division. MERC CITY is a show that will follow the Mercs and Bounty Hunters of the Riddick Universe. Next Month, DT (David Twohy) begins writing the next Chapter in the Chronicles of Riddick… FURIA."
Twohy has written and directed all three Riddick films: Pitch Black (2000), The Chronicles of Riddick (2004), and Riddick, which are available on Blu-ray courtesy of Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The three films are also available as part of Riddick: The Complete Collection, a three-disc box set.
