Director Richard Linklater's new film,
Everybody Wants Some, will have its world premiere at the SXSW film conference and festival on March 11, 2016. The announcement was made today by the organizers of the Austin-based festival.
Linklater's new film, which has been described as "spiritual sequel" to his cult classic
Dazed and Confused, is set in the early 1980s and follows a group of baseball players as they navigate their way through the freedoms and responsibilities of unsupervised adulthood. The film teams up Zoey Deutch, Ryan Guzman, Glen Powell, Dora Madison, Wyatt Russell, Juston Street, and Jonathan Breck.
Following the official announcement, Janet Pierson, Head of SXSW Film, said:
"We are so thrilled to premiere Richard's latest work, which is really funny, instantly quotable and filled will great new talent. Audiences are going to love this paean to competition and coming of age in the 80s."
