Alchemy has acquired the U.S. distribution rights to Ben Wheatley's latest film, Free Fire, starring Armie Hammer, Brie Larson, Olivia Wilde, and Cillian Murphy. In the United Kingdom, the film will be distributed by StudioCanal.
Wheatley's film is a period crime thriller set in Boston in 1978 and follows the bloody dispute between two rivaling gangs. The film is lensed by Laurie Rose, who also teamed up with Wheatley on Kill List, Sightseers, A Field In England, and Down Terrace.
Free Fire will open in theaters across the United States in 2016.
