Amazon Studios Acquires Nicholas Winding Refn’s The Neon Demon

Amazon Studios has acquired the distribution rights to Nicholas Winding Refn's latest film, The Neon Demon (2016), starring Elle Fanning, Keanu Reeves, Christina Hendricks and Jena Malone. The film will open in theaters across the United States next summer.

Here's what Refn had to say about the film erlier this year: "One morning I woke and realized I was both surrounded and dominated by women. Strangely, a sudden urge was planted in me to make a horror film about vicious beauty. After making Drive and falling madly in love with the electricity of Los Angeles, I knew I had to return to tell the story of The Neon Demon. This movie is a manifestation of the strong ties between us and will lead to many more adventures."

Official synopsis: When aspiring model Jesse moves to Los Angeles, her youth and vitality are devoured by a group of beauty-obsessed women who will take any means necessary to get what she has. Cinematography by Natasha Braier (In The City of Sylvia, Chinese Puzzle).
