HBO has seen strong increases in disc sales in Germany and the UK. According to Sofia Chang, EVP Worldwide Digital Distribution & Home Entertainment, this year disc sales have increased 30% in Germany and 20% in the UK.
In an article published by Cue Entertainment, Chang noted that the strong sales were fueled by the success of programs with global appeal.
In the United States, recent HBO Blu-ray releases include Game of Thrones: The Complete First Season (SteelBook Edition), The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst, The Knick: The Complete First Season, and Strike Back: Season Three.
New and upcoming HBO Blu-ray releases include Getting On: The Complete Second Season, True Detective: The Complete Second Season, Banshee: The Complete Third Season, and Togetherness: Season 1.
