For the week that ended on October 25th, Universal Studios Home Entertainment's Jurassic World debuted at the top of the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media sales lists. The latest installment in Universal and Steven Spielberg's hugely successful box-office franchise, Jurassic World is one of 2015's biggest hits. Despite only garnering average critical notices (the film has a 59% score on Metacritic), it grossed over $651 million domestically and $1.6 billion worldwide, totals that made it the highest grossing picture (so far) of the year. Furthermore, it's already distinguished itself on home-media platforms, earning $82.6 million in its first week on home-media - industry analysts have predicted that Jurassic World could become the highest-selling Blu-ray-and-DVD title of 2015, as well as the industry's biggest - full-stop - live-action Blu-ray title AND Universal's biggest digital release. This week, Jurassic World had a strong Blu-ray market share of 67%.

Next up on the Blu-ray-only ranking was Walt Disney Home Entertainment's Aladdin. A perennial favorite since its release in 1992, this animated adventure-comedy, with its great Robin Williams performance, made its long-awaited debut on North American Blu-ray platforms. The film was a smash success, grossing over $504 million worldwide on top of its $28-million production budget in 1992; when adjusted for inflation, that total comes to about $855 million. Aladdin had a Blu-ray market share of 100% and sold 10% as many Blu-rays as Jurassic World. On the overall package-media chart, Aladdin came in third place (behind Warner's San Andreas), where it sold 6% as many total units as Jurassic World.

Finally, San Andreas rounded out the top three spots on the Blu-ray-only sales list. A big-budget modernization of the kind of disaster thriller that rose to prominence in the 1970s (The Poseidon Adventure, The Towering Inferno), the Dwayne Johnson-starring blockbuster was a modest success for the studio last summer; although its critical notices weren't great (it only has a Metacritic score of 43%), the picture grossed $155 million domestically on top of its projected $110-million budget. Regarding the Blu-ray-only ranking, San Andreas sold 5% as many discs as Jurassic World (and had an HD market share of 42%). As noted previously, in terms of the overall package-media list, the film was at number two and sold 8% as many total units as the dinosaur-centric adventure.
