Scott Rosenberg will write the script for the upcoming
Jumanji remake. According to Deadline, which broke the news, Columbia Pictures plans to have the film in theaters across the nation on Christmas Day next year.
Rosenberg's writing credits include such theatrical hits as
Beautiful Girls,
Con Air,
High Fidelity, and
Gone in 60 Seconds.
The original film is based on Chris Van Allsburg's novel, which will again be adapted for the upcoming remake. The film was directed by Joe Johnston and released theatrically in 1995.
