Universal Studios Home Entertainment will release
Defiance: Season Three on Blu-ray this winter. The third season of the action-packed science fiction series stars Grant Bowler, Julie Benz, Stephanie Leonidas, Tony Curran, Jaime Murray, Graham Greene, Jesse Rath, Anna Hopkins and Nichole Galicia, and streets on December 22nd.
Synopsis: In the year 2047, it's a new Earth, with new rules. Over thirty years after various alien races arrived on Earth, the landscape is completely altered, terraformed nearly beyond recognition. The town of Defiance, on what used to be St. Louis, stands as a living example of what happens when humans and aliens live together harmoniously, and often not-so-harmoniously.
In the series' third season, two Omec arrive at Earth aboard a ship and begin mining gulanite from Defiance's mines, releasing Nolan (Bowler) and Irisa (Leonidas) in the process. Defiance is left defenseless when without power the Stasis Net is disabled. Datak (Curran), Stahma (Murray) and Rafe (Greene) locate Alak (Rath), Christie (Nicole Muņoz) and the baby but are prevented from reaching them by a Votanis Collective death squad led by a genocidal commander.
The Blu-ray release of
Defiance: Season Three features 1080p video, DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround, and an UltraViolet digital copy of the entire season. Special features have yet to be detailed.
