Walt Disney Home Entertainment has officially detailed the Diamond Edition Blu-ray release of Aladdin (1992), the 31st Walt Disney Animated Classic. The beloved film features the voice talents of Robin Williams as The Genie, Scott Weinger as Aladdin, Linda Larkin as Jasmine, Gilbert Gottfried as Iago, Jonathan Freeman as Jafar, Douglas Seale as Sultan, and Frank Welker as Abu, and makes its long awaited North American Blu-ray debut on October 13th.
Synopsis: In the heart of an enchanted city, a commoner named Aladdin and his mischievous monkey Abu battle to save the free-spirited Princess Jasmine from the schemes of the evil sorcerer Jafar. Aladdin's whole life changes with one rub of a magic lamp as a fun-loving, shape-shifting Genie appears and grants him three wishes, setting him on an incredible journey of discovery.
Aladdin was directed and produced by John Musker and Ron Clements (The Little Mermaid, Hercules) and written by Clements, Musker, Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio, with music and lyrics by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman and Tim Rice.
The Diamond Edition Blu-ray release of Aladdin is presented in 1080p with DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 surround. English SDH, Spanish and French subtitles are available. Special features include:
