Pioneer Electronics has announced that they will be entering into the Australian Blu-ray market with the BDP-LX70. While it looks very similar to the US BDP-HD1, this new model has a few new features that weren't included in the US version. Pioneer has added support for Dolby TrueHD right out of the box, as well as support for CD playback. Still included is the 1080p24 output via HDMI and Ethernet connection which allows users to stream content straight from their Windows-based computers.
No price has been announced for the device at this time, nor a launch date. Those of you in Europe will notice that this is the same model you have received or will be receiving later this month, though some features may vary depending on region.
