For the week that ended on August 16th, Lionsgate Home Entertainment's Insurgent remained at the top spot on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media lists. An adaptation of the second book in Veronica Roth's popular Divergent series, the picture continues the narrative started in the hit 2014 film Divergent, although Insurgent did not prove as successful as its predecessor. While it had a better worldwide box-office gross ($295 million vs. Divergent's $288 million), at $110 million it also cost about $25 million more to produce; the film also mustered disappointing critical notices, as evinced by its 42% score on Metacritic. This week, Insurgent had a Blu-ray market share of 51%.

Next up on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media rankings was DreamWorks Home Entertainment's Home. This CGI-animated comedy struggled to earn back its production budget for the studio last March. It garnered mediocre critical support (the film has a 55% rating on Metacritic) and grossed only $176 million worldwide on top of its projected $135-million budget (that said, the picture performed much stronger overseas, earning an additional $209 million). On the Blu-ray-only ranking, Home sold 59% as many Blu-rays as Insurgent (and had an HD market share of 32%) and 92% as many total units.

Finally, Warner Home Entertainment's Hot Pursuit rounded out the top three spots on the Blu-ray-only list. The action-comedy - a starring vehicle for Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara - had trouble connecting with audiences and critics last May. It only grossed $34 million domestically on top of its projected $35 million production budget, and it garnered a weak Metacritic score of just 31%. On the Blu-ray-only list, Hot Pursuit sold 41% as many copies as just Insurgent and had a Blu-ray market share of 26%. Regarding the overall package-media list, the film sold 79% as many total units as Insurgent.
