Sharp has announced some specs for their two second-generation Blu-ray players - the
Sharp BD-HP21 and
BD-HP50. Both players are BonusView compatible and support 24p x.v.Color output. Additionally, both players support decoding of Dolby TrueHD soundtracks (no support for DTS-HD Master Audio was announced at this time) and feature Sharp's Quick Start technology.
The BD-HP50 gets special features aimed at custom installers, with the addition of RS-232C and IR input so the player can be stored in a remote location.
Both players are available now. The BD-HP21 has a suggest retail price of $349, while the BD-HP50 will set you back $100 more at $449.
LG also added some detail to their upcoming
BD300 Blu-ray Disc player. As previously reported, this player will the first Blu-ray player with support for streaming Netflix content and will retail for $399 when it hits shelves this October.
