Open Road Films has released the first official teaser trailer for director Oliver Stone's latest film, Snowden (2015), starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Rhys Ifans, Joely Richardson, Shailene Woodley, Melissa Leo, Zachary Quinto, Tom Wilkinson and Timothy Olyphant. The film will open in theaters across the nation on December 25.
The film is based on journalist Luke Harding's book The Snowden Files: The Inside Story Of The World's Most Wanted Man and Time of the Octopus by Edward Snowden's lawyer, Anatoly Kucherena.
It was Guardian journalist Glenn Greenwald who broke the story of government surveillance in June 2013.
Greenwald's novel No Place To Hide is now also adapted by James Bond producers Michael Wilson and Barbara Broccoli for a new film that focuses on the information leaked by Snowden.
