Criterion to Release Francois Truffaut's Day for Night

Lee Kline, Technical Director at The Criterion Collection, has confirmed that Francois Truffaut's Oscar winning film La nuit américaine a.k.a. Day for Night (1973) is currently being restored with the assistance of its director of photography, Pierre-William Glenn.

Kline confirmed that the film is being restored in an interview for The A.V. Club.

At the moment, however, there isn't a preliminary release date for an upcoming Blu-ray release.

Synopsis: The leading lady is recovering from a nervous breakdown, another performer is soused on the set, trade unions threaten to walk, shooting must finish before the insurance lapses and a cat can't hit its mark. Is this any way to make a film? Mais oui!
