Marvel Studios has released a new theatrical trailer for director Peyton Reed's Ant-Man, which stars Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña and Judy Greer. The superhero action film marks the final Phase II film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (as confirmed by producer Kevin Fiege at a Phase III Marvel Event in October 2014), and arrives in U.S. theaters on July 17th.
Official Synopsis: The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios' Ant-Man. Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang (Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
Lilly co-stars as Pym's daughter, Hope Van Dyne, alongside Stoll as the film's villain, former Pym protégé Darren Cross (aka Yellowjacket). Peyton Reed is directing from a script written by Adam McKay, Gabriel Ferrari and Andrew Barrer, based on a story and initial screenplay by Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish. Kevin Feige is producing. Russell Carpenter is the film's cinematographer.
