For the week that ended on March 29th, Warner Bros. and New Line Home Entertainment's The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies scored the top position on the Blu-ray and overall package lists. The final installment in the recent Hobbit trilogy, director Peter Jackson's prequel to his Academy Award-winning Lord of the Rings Trilogy has performed admirably at the box office; to date, The Battle of the Five Armies has grossed more than $955 million worldwide. Its solid small-screen debut also augers well for its future - the film had a Blu-ray market share of 54%.

Next up on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media charts was Walt Disney Home Entertainment's Into the Woods. Director Rob Marshall's blockbuster reimagining of the Tony Award-winning stage musical, Into the Woods was a modest holiday hit for the Mouse House following its Christmas Day-release. The film grossed just under $128 million domestically on top of its projected $50-million budget, and it garnered a Metacritic score of 69%. On the Blu-ray-only ranking, Into the Woods sold 32% as many Blu-rays as The Battle of the Five Armies and had an HD market share of 38%.

Finally, Universal Studios Home Entertainment's Unbroken rounded out the top three spots on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media rankings. A contemporary dramatization of author Laura Hillenbrand's bestselling nonfiction novel, this WWII-era drama also proved a modest financial success. Despite some middling critical notices - its Metacritic score is 59% - the film grossed over $161 million worldwide on top of an estimated $65-million production budget. Unbroken sold 20% as many Blu-ray copies as The Battle of the Five Armies and had a Blu-ray market share of 44%.
