Author, critic and speaker Tim Page has confirmed that the Criterion Collection will release on Blu-ray the recent 4K restoration of Alain Resnais'
Hiroshima mon amour (1959), starring Emmanuelle Riva, Eiji Okada, and Stella Dassas. The release is expected to arrive on the market later this year.
Mr. Page was interviewed by the Criterion Collection for a new feature that will appear on the upcoming Blu-ray release.
Hiroshima mon amour was recently restored in 4K by Argos Films, Technicolor and Groupama Gan Foundations, and Cineteca di Bologna, with the support of CNC. The new restoration was screened in the Classics section of the Cannes Film Festival.
Synopsis: A French actress and a Japanese architect have an affair while the actress is making a movie in Hiroshima.
