Warner Bros. TV and CBS released today the first official promotional photo of Melissa Benoist as Supergirl. The TV movie is directed by Glen Winter and written by Greg Berlanti, Ali Adler and Andrew Kreisberg. The cast also includes Calista Flockhart, Chyler Leigh, Laura Benanti, and Helen Slater.
Supergirl's costume was created by Oscar winner Colleen Atwood (The Silence of the Lambs, Edward Scissorhands, Into the Woods). Atwood also contributed to the superhero series The Flash and Arrow.
After the photo was released Colleen Atwood said, "In designing Supergirl, I wanted to embrace the past, but more importantly, thrust her into the street-style action hero of today."
