Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release
Outlander: Season One, Volume One on Blu-ray in early March. Based on Diana Gabaldon's novel series of the same name, the first season of Ronald D. Moore's British-American television drama stars Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Tobias Menzies, Gary Lewis, Graham McTavish, Lotte Verbeek, Bill Paterson, Duncan Lacroix, Grant O'Rourke and Stephen Walters.
Outlander arrives via
standard and
Collector's Edition Blu-rays on March 3rd.
Synopsis:
Outlander follows the story of Claire Randall (Balfe), a married combat nurse from 1945 who is mysteriously swept back in time to 1743, where she is immediately thrown into an unknown world in which her life is threatened. Forced to marry Jamie (Heughan), a chivalrous and romantic young Scottish warrior, a passionate affair is ignited that tears Claire's heart between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.
Sony has yet to detail tech specs or special features for either Blu-ray edition, though the Collector's Edition comes packaged in a Script-to-Screen DigiBook.
