Paramount has announced that Justin Lin will direct the next Star Trek film. Lin replaces Roberto Orci, who was previously linked to the project.
A preliminary theatrical release date for Star Trek 3 is yet to be revealed, but various sources have speculated that the film is likely to arrive in U.S. theaters in 2016.
Lin's credits include such recent hits as Fast & Furious 6, Fast Five, Fast & Furious, Annapolis, and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.
