Independent distributors Kino Lorber have announced that they will release on Blu-ray Alfred E. Green's noir picture Cover Up (1949), starring William Bendix, Dennis O'Keefe, Barbara Britton, Art Baker, Ann E. Todd and Doro Merande, and Hal Walker's comedy At War with the Army (1950), starring Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis, and Mike Kellin. The two releases will arrive on the market in March, 2015.

Cover Up

In a small Midwestern town a man is found dead. When insurance investigator Sam Donovan (O'Keefe) arrives looking into the apparent suicide, all clues lead him into suspecting murder. Unfortunately, no one wants to assist him with the case, including Sheriff Larry Best (Bendix). Finally, attractive local girl Anita (Britton) breaks the silence and helps investigator Donovan solve the case.

At War with the Army

At War with the Army follows Alvin Corwin (Lewis), the low man on the totem pole, who goes from one mishap to another at an Army training camp in World War II with his friend 1st Sgt. Vic Puccinelli (Martin). This was Martin & Lewis' first starring feature and the early beginnings of their career together, which would last until 1956. As was typical in future martin & Lewis d eatures, At War with the Army portrays Martin as the higher level Sergeant ladies' man with the crooner's voice, which Lewis plays the bumbling Private First Class. While realizing that the Army wasn't everything they hoped it would be, it did allow the charm of martin and the antics of Lewis to shine through brightly. Martin & Lewis were the hottest act in America during the early 1950s, but on July 25, 1956, ten years to the day after first official teaming, one of the most legendary splits in Hollywood history had come to pass.
