French label Pathe will add six new titles to its Blu-ray catalog in February: Georges Lautner's The Black Monocle (1961), The Eye of the Monocle (1962), The Seventh Juror (1962), and The Twisted Detective (1977), and Jean-Jacques Annaud's The Bear (1988) and The Lover (1992).

The Lover

Based on Marguerite Duras' best-selling novel. Jane March is mesmerizing in the role of a poor French teenager who engages in an illicit affair with a wealthy Chinese heir (Tony Leung) in 1920s Saigon. For the first time in her young life she has control, and she wields it deftly over her besotted lover throughout a series of clandestine meetings and torrid encounters. But though the lovers are able to transcend their differences in age, race and class... theirs is a future that French colonial Vietnamese society will never allow. Newly restored in 4K. The Bear

The Twisted Detective

In the middle of the night, deputy Philippe Dubaye wakes up his old friend Xavier Maréchal with disturbing news: he has just killed Serrano, a racketeer with extant political connections. Serrano kept proofs of Dubaye's involvement in corrupt dealings and was poised to use them against the deputy. Xavier readily agrees to cover up for his old pal Philippe, but he soon runs into difficulties. Nobody believes Dubaye's alibi. And everybody -- influential personalities, powerful businessmen, dubious go-betweens and the police -- wants to get hold of the documents that served to blackmail Dubaye; by all possible means...Newly restored in 2K.
