The Tales of Hoffmann (1951), starring Moira Shearer, Robert Rounseville, Ludmilla Tchérina, and Robert Helpmann. The release will be available for purchase on March 23, 2015.
Synopsis: An adaptation of Jacques Offenbach's opera by the Archers (aka Pressburger and Powell), after their huge success of 'The Red Shoes'. The ballet follows Hoffman's tales of his love for the doll Olympia, the courtesan Giuletta and the frail diva Antonia, and of how his quest for the eternal woman was always thwarted by evil.
