Spanish star Penelope Cruz has joined the cast of
Zoolander 2, which will be distributed by Paramount Pictures. According to Deadline, the upcoming sequel will be based on a script by Justin Theroux (
Iron Man 2,
Rock of Ages). Ben Stiller will direct it.
A preliminary theatrical release date has not yet been revealed.
The original film was released in 2001. It stars Stiller, Owen Wilson, Christine Taylor, Will Ferrell, Milla Jovovich, David Duchovny, and Jon Voight.
