Warner Home Video has announced that they will re-release the holiday film 'A Christmas Story' for Blu-ray on November 4th. This will be the same disc that will be found in the previously announced '
A Christmas Story: Ultimate Collector's Edition', which due to hit store shelves on the same day, but in regular Blu-ray packaging.
This almost certainly confirms that Warner has remastered the film, and that this disc will be an improvement over the
previous 2006 release. Besides being on a BD-25, no other technical information about this release is known at this time. Extras for this release will include:
- Commentary with Peter Billingsley and director/ co-writer Bob Clark
- Original readings by Jean Shepard, author and voice narrator of A Christmas Story
- Documentary: Another Christmas Story
- Featurette: Get a Leg Up
- Featurette: A History of the Daisy Red Ryder
- Triple Dog Dare Interactive Trivia
- Decoder Match Challenge
- Hidden "Presents"
- Original theatrical trailer
In order to tell the difference between the new release and the old release, Warner will use a white-bordered cover for the new release, where as the old release uses a red-bordered cover.
