Twin Peaks Returns to Showtime

David Lynch's cult series Twin Peaks will return to Showtime. According to Deadline, which broke the news, Lynch will direct a new nine-episode series in 2015 which will premiere in 2016.

The new series will be created by Lynch and Mark Frost and will be set in present days. Early reports indicate that Kyle MacLachlan will also return to reprise his role as FBI Agent Dale Cooper.

The original Twin Peaks launched on April 8, 1990, on ABC. It is now available on Blu-ray courtesy of Paramount Media Home Distribution. You can see our listing and review of the Blu-ray box set here.
