French label EuropaCorp will release on Blu-ray director Dalton Trumbo's
Johnny Got His Gun (1971), starring Timothy Bottoms, Donald Sutherland, Jason Robards, Kathy Fields, and Marsha Hunt. Digitally restored,
Johnny Got His Gun will be available for purchase on December 1.
In 1971, the film won Grand Prize of the Jury and FIPRESCI Prize at the Cannes Film Festival.
After a shell leaves his body mangled on the final day of World War I, young Joe Bonham (Timothy Bottoms) lies trapped in a hospital bed, a fully conscious quadruple amputee who cannot speak, hear or see, left to wander within his own mind between his harsh reality and memories of a happier life long gone.
