For the week that ended on September 21st, Warner Home Entertainment's Godzilla took the top spot on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media sales rankings. This blockbuster adventure, director Gareth Edwards' reimagining of the monster-movie icon, performed well with both critics and audiences when it premiered last May. In addition to its okay-to-solid reviews (on Metacritic, Godzilla currently has a 62% rating), the film grossed just under $525 million worldwide on top of its projected $160 million budget. Last week, Godzilla had a strong Blu-ray market share of 58%.

Next up on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media sales lists was Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment's The Fault in Our Stars. Based on the acclaimed YA novel by John Green, The Fault in Our Stars had a robust screen presence following its theatrical release in June. The picture, which has a projected production budget of $12 million, grossed over $124 million domestically and mostly enjoyed a positive critical consensus, as indicated by its 69% Metacritic rating. The Fault in Our Stars sold 56% as many Blu-rays as Godzilla and had an HD market share of 39%, and on the overall package-media chart, the film sold 83% as many units as the epic creature feature.

Finally, Disney and Marvel's Captain America: The Winter Soldier rounded out the top three spots on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media sales lists. This sequel to the 2011 hit Captain America: The First Avenger has proven itself one of Marvel's most successful theatrical properties. The superhero actioner has a 70% Metacritic score, and it grossed over $714 million worldwide on top of its estimated $170 million budget. On the Blu-ray-only ranking, Captain America: The Winter Soldier sold 38% as many Blu-rays as Godzilla (and garnered an HD market share of 57%). On the overall package-media chart, The Winter Soldier moved 39% as many copies as Godzilla.
