Warner Archive has revealed that it is planning to bring to Blu-ray Michael Curtiz's Yankee Doodle Dandy (1942), starring James Cagney, Joan Leslie, Walter Huston, George Tobias, and Frances Langford. The release is expected to arrive on the market later this year.
Synopsis: An outstanding musical about the life and times of George M. Cohan, playwright, entertainer, composer and patriot. Academy Award Nominations: 8, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Story. Academy Awards: Best Actor--James Cagney, Best Sound Recording, Best Scoring of a Musical Picture.
