Video Services Corp Inks Three Year Canadian Distribution Deal with Kino Lorber

Video Services Corp (VSC) and Kino Lorber announced at the Toronto International Film Festival that they have inked a three-year multi-platform Canadian home entertainment distribution deal that will begin October 1. VSC will distribute Kino Lorber releases in all packaged media formats in Canada as well as certain other distribution platforms on a case by case basis.

In addition to re-launching Kino Lorber's distinguished catalogue of over 800 films, the deal launches with the November 4th DVD and never before on Blu-ray release of the Gary Cooper classic Man of the West and Louis Malle's 1965 film, Viva Maria!, starring Brigitte Bardot. This new distribution collaboration will ramp up with 4-8 releases per month in Canada including award winning new theatrical releases, restored major classics and acclaimed documentary features. With such a high quality and substantial flow of new films (including 5 Academy Award nominated releases in the last 7 years) Kino Lorber, through VSC, will move to the forefront of the Canadian home entertainment market for quality cinema.

Kino Lorber's upcoming Canadian theatrical releases which will find their way to home entertainment later this year or early 2015 include Jean-Luc Godard's Goodbye to Language 3D, Academy Award-winning director Alex Gibney's documentary Finding Fela, and the Sundance hit Vampire Western A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night. The Godard film, that won the Jury Prize at this year's Cannes Film Festival screens Wednesday, September 10 at 6pm at the Ryerson Theatre, Friday, September 12 at 9 am at the TIFF Bell Lightbox and Sunday, September 14 at 9:15pm at the TIFF Bell Lightbox. The Home Entertainment release on this film will be distributed by VSC in the first quarter of 2015.
