Independent distributors Well Go USA will release on Blu-ray Ivan Sen's thriller Mystery Road (2013), starring Aaron Pedersen, Hugo Weaving, Ryan Kwanten, Jack Thompson, Bruce Spence, Robert Mammone, and Tasma Walton. The preliminary release date set by the distributors is October 14th.
Earlier this year, Mystery Road won Best Film, Best Director, and Best Actor (Aaron Pedersen) Awards at the Film Critics Circle of Australia Awards. The film was also nominated for six Australian Film Institute Awards.
Indigenous cowboy detective Jay Swan returns to his outback hometown to solve the murder of a teenage girl, whose body is found under the highway trucking route out of town. Alienated from both the white-dominated police force and his own community, including his teenage daughter (now connected to the murdered girl), Jay stands alone in his determination to fight back - for his town, and his people.
