U.S. distributors A24 have acquired the distribution rights to directors Andrew Lau and Andrew Loo's crime thriller Revenge of the Green Dragons (2014), starring Justin Chon, Kevin Wu, Harry Shum, Jr., Shuya Chang, Geoff Pierson, Billy Magnussen, and Ray Liotta. The film will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, which will be followed by a wider theatrical release in October.
Synopsis (courtesy of TIFF): Executive produced by acclaimed director Martin Scorsese, this dizzying, decade-spanning crime saga from Hong Kong directors Andrew Lau (Infernal Affairs) and Andrew Loo follows two best friends as they rise through the ranks of New York's Chinese underworld in the 1980s.
Note: Other recent A24 films that have already been released on Blu-ray include Jonathan Glazer's Under the Skin, Denis Villeneuve's Enemy, Steven Knight's Locke, and David Michôd's The Rover (to be released on September 23rd).
