British distributors Odeon Entertainment will release on Blu-ray director Karel Reisz's (
Saturday Night and Sunday Morning, The French Lieutenant's Woman) film
Isadora (1968), starring Vanessa Redgrave, James Fox, Jason Robards, Cynthia Harris, and Bessie Love. The release will be available for purchase on November 24th.
In 1969, the film won Best Actress Award (Vanessa Redgrave) at the Cannes Film Festival.
Synopsis: Vanessa Redgrave portrays Isadora Duncan in this biopic of the dancer's life. Duncan was known for her risqué performances and her controversial lifestyle - she was a free spirit in an otherwise conventional society. She embarked on affairs with various lovers such as Paris Singer (Jason Robards), Gordon Craig (James Fox) and Sergel Essenin (Ivan Tchenko) and suffered many tragedies, including the demise of her two children.
