Before there were Sopranos, there were Mad Men. Well, sort of. Series creator Matthew Weiner wrote the pilot back in 2000 while working as a staff writer for the TV show "Becker". David Chase, creator of 'The Sopranos', read the script, and was so impressed by it that he asked Weiner to come write for him. As soon as The Sopranos concluded, Weiner completed work on his pilot, and the rest - as they say - is history. Today, Lionsgate Home Entertainment brings the Golden Globe award winning 'Mad Men: Season One' to Blu-ray.

For Clint Eastwood fans, last month was an exciting one with the Warner Home Video release of 'Dirty Harry: Ultimate Collector's Edition', featuring the five Dirty Harry films. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment keeps the theme rolling with the excellent Blu-ray release of 'In the Line of Fire'. For those of you not familiar with this 15 year old film, Clint Eastwood plays Frank Horrigan, an older secret service agent who, not surprisingly, kicks the crap out of everyone. Great stuff!

Classic film fans also get a treat with Fox Home Entertainment's release of 'Batman The Movie: Special Edition, the original 1966 Batman feature film starring Adam West. Interestingly enough, West was recently quoted saying he didn't like the new, darker style Batman. I tend to disagree, but there are definitely those fans who like the more campy, "Bang!" and "Zap!" Batman. This release is for you.
