Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Tops Weekend Box Office

Paramount and Nickelodeon Movies' Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles had an impressive debut in North America over the weekend. Directed by Jonathan Liebesman and produced by Michael Bay, the film earned $65 million from 3,845 screens.

At the international markets, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles netted a total of $97.3 million.

Marvel Entertainment's Guardians of the Galaxy, which a week earlier set a new box office record in North America after generating $94.3 million, slipped to second place ($41.5 million, -56%, $175.9 million).
