French label Carlotta Films will add three titles to its Blu-ray catalog in November: Orson Welles' Macbeth (1948) and Othello (1952), and Michael Cimino's Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (1974).
Othello
Synopsis: Orson Welles directed and starred in this version of Shakespeare's famous tragedy. Filmed on a shoestring budget over two years, Welles strips the famous tale of sexual jealousy and betrayal down to its essentials, casting himself as the tragic Moor. Winner of the 1952 Best Picture Award at Cannes. Starring starring Micheál MacLiammóir, Robert Coote, Suzanne Cloutier, and Orson Welles. Newly restored in 2K. STREET DATE: NOVEMBER 5TH.
Macbeth
Synopsis: In fog-dripping, barren and sometimes macabre settings, 11th-century Scottish nobleman Macbeth is led by an evil prophecy and his ruthless yet desirable wife to the treasonous act that makes him king. Starring Orson Welles, Jeanette Nolan, Dan O'Herlihy, Roddy McDowall, and Alan Napier. Newly restored. STREET DATE: NOVEMBER 5TH.
Thunderbolt and Lightfoot
Synopsis: Seven years after a daring bank robbery involving an anti-tank gun used to blow open a vault, the robbery team temporarily puts aside their mutual suspicions to repeat the crime after they are unable to find the loot from the original heist, hidden behind a school chalkboard. The hardened artilleryman and his flippant, irresponsible young sidekick are the two wild cards in the deck of jokers. Starring Clint Eastwood, Jeff Bridges, Geoffrey Lewis (I), Catherine Bach, and Gary Busey. STREET DATE: NOVEMBER 19TH.
