Guardians of the Galaxy Sets Box Office Record

The latest addition to Marvel Entertainment's Cinematic Universe, Guardians of the Galaxy, has set a new box office record in North America. After generating $94.3 million over the weekend, the film now has the biggest August debut of all time.

At the international markets, Guardians of the Galaxy's debut generated approximately $161.7 million. The film performed particularly well in Russia ($13 million) and the United Kingdom. ($10.8 million).
