British distributors Axiom Films have revealed that they are planning to bring to Blu-ray director Ivan Sen's thriller Mystery Road (2013), starring Aaron Pedersen, Hugo Weaving, Ryan Kwanten, Jack Thompson, Bruce Spence, Robert Mammone, and Tasma Walton. The preliminary release date set by the distributors is October 27th.
Earlier this year, Mystery Road won Best Film, Best Director, and Best Actor (Aaron Pedersen) Awards at the Film Critics Circle of Australia Awards. The film was also nominated for six Australian Film Institute Awards.
Synopsis: Ivan Sen directs this murder mystery thriller starring Aaron Pedersen and Hugo Weaving. When cowboy detective Jay Swann (Pedersen) discovers the body of a young indigenous girl on the highway he makes it his number one priority to solve the murder. Ostracized from both the all-white police force and the aboriginal people, Swann begins to realise why he has never really fit into this small outback town as he slowly unravels a mystery that stretches far beyond the body of a young girl.
