Earlier today at Comi-Con, U.S. distributors Shout Factory/Scream Factory revealed that they are planning to add a number of catalog titles to their Blu-ray catalog. Amongst them are George A. Romero's
The Dark Half (1993) and
Monkey Shines (1988), Bill Condon's
Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh (1995), William Wesley's
Scarecrows (1988), Tobe Hooper's
Invaders from Mars (1986), Emmett Alston's
New Year's Evil (1980), Dwight H. Little's
Phantom of the Opera (1989), Stuart Gordon's
Dolls (1987), George Miller's
Mad Max (1979), Jay Levey's
UHF (1989), and John Carpenter's
Escape From New York (1981).
Exact technical specs and preliminary street dates for these upcoming releases are yet to be announced. However, Scream Factory has confirmed that
Dolls, The Dark Half and
Monkey Shines are scheduled to be released in November 2014, while the rest of the titles will arrive on the U.S. market in 2015.
