Open Road Films and Universal Studios Home Entertainment are bringing writer/director Jon Favreau's
Chef to Blu-ray next month. The comedy stars Favreau, Sofía Vergara, Robert Downey, Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Dustin Hoffman, John Leguizamo, Bobby Cannavale, Amy Sedaris and Oliver Platt, and arrives on Blu-ray on August 19th.
Synopsis: When Chef Carl Casper (Favreau) suddenly quits his job at a prominent Los Angeles restaurant after refusing to compromise his creative integrity for its controlling owner (Hoffman), he is left to figure out what comes next. Finding himself in Miami, he teams up with his ex-wife (Vergara), his friend (Leguizamo) and his son to launch a food truck. Taking to the road, Chef Carl goes back to his roots to reignite his passion for the kitchen and zest for life and love.
The Blu-ray release of
Chef is presented in 1080p with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround. Universal has yet to detail special features. However, the BD combo pack includes a DVD and Digital HD digital copy of the film.
