For the week that ended on June 29th, Warner's 300: Rise of an Empire took the top spot on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media sales charts. This action epic - the sequel to the 2007 hit 300 - was a modest disappointment for the studio this past year. In addition to its mediocre critical notices (the film scored a 48% Metacritic ranking), Rise of an Empire went on to gross only $106 million domestically, a figure below its estimated $110-million production budget (that said, the picture performed much stronger overseas, earning an additional $224 million). For its first week of home media sales, 300: Rise of an Empire had a Blu-ray market share of 51%.

Next up on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media lists was another Warner title, The LEGO Movie. Directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord's animated comedy has proved itself as one of 2014's breakout smashes; critics mostly praised the film (as its solid 82% Metacritic score indicates), which went on to gross over $467 million worldwide, a figure which becomes more impressive when one takes into consideration its estimated $60 million budget. The LEGO Movie sold 73% as many Blu-rays as 300: Rise of an Empire - and had a 39% HD market share - and 97% as many total units.

Finally, Universal's Lone Survivor rounded out the top three spots on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media sales charts. Despite generating much controversy among critics - many in the critical community accused the the Peter Berg-directed war drama of jingoism, a condition that may have resulted in its 60% Metacritic score - Lone Survivor was a hit with audiences: the $40-million picture made over $149 million in worldwide grosses. This week, Lone Survivor had a Blu-ray market share of 42% and sold 13% as many Blu-rays as 300: Rise of an Empire. Regarding the overall package-media list, the film sold 16% as many units as Rise of an Empire.
