For the week that ended on May 25th, Sony and 20th Century Fox's The Monuments Men took the top spot on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media charts. After its distributors pulled the film from the 2013 Oscar consideration season, director George Clooney's WWII drama became a modest success following its February premiere; despite mediocre critical notices (its Metacritic score is 52%), the estimated $70-million feature grossed over $154 million worldwide. During its first week on home media, The Monuments Men had a Blu-ray market share of 42%.

Next up on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media sales rankings was Fox's 3 Days to Kill. The McG-directed, Luc Besson-produced-and-written actioner struggled - to little avail - to become the next Taken. Even with its budget of $28 million, 3 Days to Kill only grossed $44 million worldwide ($30 million of that total came from its domestic grosses), and critics didn't respond any more favorably, with Metacritic giving their consensus a 40% score. 3 Days to Kill, which had a Blu-ray market share of 43%, sold 63% as many Blu-rays as The Monuments Men and 62% as many total units.

Finally, Sony's Pompeii rounded out the top three spots on the Blu-ray-only sales list. The latest picture from B-movie impresario Paul W.S. Anderson, this Roman disaster epic was a theatrical underperformer. Budgeted at $100 million, Pompeii grossed $97 million worldwide, with only $23 million of that resulting from its domestic earnings. On the Blu-ray-only list, it sold 51% as many discs as The Monuments Men and had a Blu-ray market share of 48%. On the overall package media list, however, the film actual came in fourth place and sold 44% as many total units as Monuments Men - Frozen took third place and sold 59% as many copies as the George Clooney-directed feature.
