Childhood's End Synopsis: Far in the future, humans live underground, and have done so for hundreds of years. In one such underground community -- Giha Village -- live two young men: Simon, shy and naive, and Kamina, who believes in the existence of a "surface" world. When the ceiling falls and a gigantic "Gunmen" and a beautiful, superconductive rifle-wielding girl named Yoko appear, Kamina, Simon and Yoko get on a "Lagann" that Simon digs out from the ground and ascend to the surface. However, the surface is not the dreamland Kamina imagined. It is reined by the Spiral King and his army. Now Kamina and Simon, along with their comrades, must challenge the Spiral King to change the world.
The Lights in the Sky Are Stars Synopsis: Valiantly persevering through the traumatic aftermath of previous events, Team Dai-Gurren finally reaches Teppelin, the royal capital, where Simon battles the Spiral King, Lordgenome. Seven years after the battle of Teppelin, the humans reclaim the surface of the earth and enjoy an unprecedented period of peace and prosperity. However, humanity's increasing population growth triggers the sudden emergence of an unknown, powerful enemy.
Childhood's End and
The Lights in the Sky Are Stars are presented in 1080p with lossless Japanese audio and English subtitles. (Note: no English dub is available.) Special features include Textless Endings.
