The Final Member, a documentary that follows an eccentric Icelandic museum owner on a dogged, often emotional quest to complete a peculiar exhibition. The sincere yet comic portrait of obsession arrives on Blu-ray on June 17th.
Official Synopsis: It wouldn't seem to be all that special, since all male mammals have one, yet an Icelandic museum devoted to it has become the focus of global attention.
The Final Member, the hotly discussed and well reviewed film turns to Husavik, Iceland; a remote village on the fringe of the Arctic Circle that boasts the world's only museum devoted exclusively to painstakingly preserved male genitalia. Founded and curated by Siguršur "Siggi" Hjartarson, the Icelandic Phallological Museum houses mammalian members collected over 40 years, from a petite field mouse to the colossal sperm whale, and every "thing" in between. Siggi's collection, though, lacks the holy grail of phallic phantasmagoria: a human specimen.
But Siggi's world changes dramatically when he receives generous offers from an elderly Icelandic Casanova looking to bequeath his organ upon his death and an American who's willing to be a living donor. However, as the competition heats up between the two men, Siggi discovers that the process is more complicated than it initially appeared.
