IFC Films has acquired the North American distribution rights to Danish director Kristian Levring's western The Salvation (2014). The film stars Mads Mikkelsen (TV's Hannibal), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Watchmen), Eva Green (Casino Royale), Jonathan Pryce (Brazil), Mikael Persbrandt (Everlasting Moments), and Eric Cantona.
The Salvation had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in the Out of Competition Midnight section.
Synopsis: In 1870s America, a peaceful American settler kills his family's murderer which unleashes the fury of a notorious gang leader. His cowardly fellow townspeople then betray him, forcing him to hunt down the outlaws alone.
