Acorn Media has detailed the Blu-ray release of
Jack Irish: Set 2, which stars Guy Pearce as the brooding antihero of Australian writer Peter Temple's award-winning novels. The latest feature-length mystery finds the titular private investigator grappling with personal and professional drama as he continues to investigate crimes in the seedy underbelly of Melbourne.
Set 1 is already available for purchase.
Set 2 arrives on Blu-ray on May 27th.
Synopsis: When a man he's been tasked with finding turns up dead of a drug overdose, Jack thinks his job is done. But his client compels him to continue working on the case, revealing a personal stake that Jack can't ignore. As he digs deeper, Jack uncovers a conspiracy involving smuggling, police corruption, and blackmail that could compromise someone close to his heart.
Based on the novel "Dead Point" by Temple, the mystery that unfolds offers an original take on the genre. The drama also stars Barry Humphries as a crusading judge, while Marta Dusseldorp returns as Jack's journalist paramour.
