In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Warner Bros. President of Worldwide Production Greg Silverman confirmed the studio's intent to produce a
Justice League film starring Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent, Ben Affleck as Batman/Bruce Wayne and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman/Princess Diana, with
Man of Steel filmmaker Zack Snyder as director. However, contrary to rumors circulating today, the
JLA movie isn't expected any earlier than 2018.
Silverman didn't offer any other specifics, other than to call the
Justice League movie "a further expansion" of the
Man of Steel universe. He also said
Superman vs. Batman [currently a working title] would "lead into
Justice League," although didn't elaborate on any other DC superhero films currently in development that would arrive between
Superman vs. Batman and
Justice League.
Man of Steel is already available on Blu-ray.
Superman vs. Batman is due May 2016.
