Leo DiCaprio will star in Oscar winning director Alejandro González Iñárritu's (21 Grams) new film The Revenant. Shooting is set to begin in September, after the Mexican director completes Birdman.
The film is based on Michael Punke's novel The Revenant: A Novel of Revenge about a trapper who goes after the men who robbed him and left him to die after a bear attack. Iñárritu co-wrote the script for the film with Mark L. Smith (The Hole).
The Revenant, which will be distributed by Twentieth Century Fox, is expected to arrive in theaters across the United States autumn of 2015.
