For the week that ended on April 6th, Disney Home Entertainment's Frozen took the top spot on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media charts for the third week in a row. This year's Academy Award-winner for Best Animated Feature won Disney much acclaim last year. Besides solid critical notices (on Metacritic, the film has a 74% score), Frozen grossed over $1 billion worldwide on top of its estimated $150 million production budget. Furthermore, it's already setting records on the small screen; as Blu-ray.com reported last week, the title sold 3.2 million discs in its first day of home-media release, helping to make it Disney's best-selling kids' movie of all time on Blu-ray. This week, Frozen had a Blu-ray market share of 43%.

Next up on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media sales rankings was another Disney feature: the straight-to-home media release of The Pirate Fairy. The CGI-animated entertainment, which details the continuing adventures of fan-favorite Peter Pan character Tinker Bell, sold 73% as many Blu-rays as Frozen and had an HD market share of 47%. On the overall package media list, the film sold 67% as many total units as the Academy Award-winning animated hit.

Finally, Paramount Home Entertainment's Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues rounded out the top three spots on the Blu-ray-only and overall package-media charts. A sequel to the 2004 cult comedy, Anchorman 2 netted the studio a decent profit after its release in December. The budgeted-at-$50-million feature grossed over $172 million worldwide. On the Blu-ray-only list, Anchorman 2 sold 66% as many copies as Frozen and had a strong 62% HD market share; regarding the overall package-media chart, the film sold 45% as many units as the Disney picture.
